Charles has been involved in the building services industry since the age of 15 when he joined Drake and Scull Ltd (Emcor) as an apprentice fitter welder. Upon successful completion of his apprenticeship he joined United and General working mainly in the installation of plant rooms and process systems for the car industry.
He rose through the ranks from charge hand to operations manager with U&G and others. Then decided in 1993 that the time was right to try to form a company where he could have a far greater influence on the scope and depth of service provided to the clients.
My father started the Company in 1993 and I have worked for Brith since 1998 starting as an office administrator. I worked my way up to Accounts Manager to become Finance Director in 2013.
I am part of a senior executive team with responsibility for the company's financial health and to maintain profitable long-term growth of the business. I also have an active role in the day to day operations of the Company.
I have four children and really enjoy spending quality time with friends and family.
My role as Commercial Director involves winning new business, exploring new avenues of activity and seeking opportunities that the company can exploit in its bid to develop and grow. I am responsible for the overall financial management of projects, overseeing tenders for new work and negotiating and agreeing contracts.
I started off as an apprentice plumber/pipe fitter for a local mechanical services company at the age of 17, then have worked my way up through the ranks of the industry over the last 20 years.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 children, watching and playing football.
I did my apprenticeship as a pipe fitter welder in Ireland at the age of 16 with a company called McKeown Brothers. I came over to the UK when I was 21 years old and gained experience of running jobs from a site level. I was one of the first employees of Brith Services joining in 1993.
I became Construction Director in 2013. I am responsible for planning and managing all construction activities right through to the handover stage. I work closely with the project managers and site team.
In my free time I enjoy working with the disabled children who participate in wheelchair racing.
